River Valley Country Park is situated in West Cornwall near to the town of Penzance in the small village of Relubbus and is set in a wooded valley with the River Hayle running through. What Types of Caravans and Lodges are for Sale?
The manufacturer of the holiday static caravan or lodge that you choose is an important choice and their reputation for build quality and price forms a significant part of the buying decision. The UK has a really strong range of static caravan and lodge manufacturers that produce luxury and standard static caravans and lodges for sale on parks and on private land via dealerships. Static caravans are typically 10 or 12 foot wide in varying lengths from 28 foot to around 38 foot, holiday lodges are wider and can come in widths of up to around 20 foot and lengths of over 40 foot. The size of the caravan, the age of the caravan, the amount of extras and original price tend to determine the retail price of a caravan on a park.
If you are looking to buy a holiday home on a park, think about what the caravan or lodge will be used for, if you’re going to sub-let the home or just use it for yourself and how many people would typically be using it. If you are buying a static caravan on a park and would virtually be using it for your own use for say a couple, then a two bedroomed caravan around the 30 foot by 10/12 foot size would be ample. If you are looking to sub-let, 3 bedroom caravans are usually better for larger families and you would typically need to buy a larger caravan.

Should I Buy a Brand New Static Caravan or Second Hand Caravan on the Park?
If you are looking to buy a holiday lodge or a static caravan on a holiday park, you will typically have the options of buying new or used holiday homes on the park or even choosing your own holiday home and specifications, if there is a suitable empty plot. Many holiday parks have a fixed term licence for a holiday home, usually 15 years from new for a static caravan and from 25 to 30 years for a new holiday lodge. Therefore, if you buy a used holiday home on a park, the number of years left on the licence will decrease. This means that the number of years that you can use the home will be shorter and that is often reflected in the price, which also reflects the level of depreciation of the holiday home, very similar to cars although the depreciation rates are usually a lot lower.
If you are buying a new holiday home on a park, you will benefit from the knowledge that all components of your caravan are inspected and should be immaculate, new caravans will also typically come with some form of manufacturers guarantee. If there is an empty plot, you could choose a holiday home with specifications that are tailored to your exact needs.
